How it works

From the first message
to the empty platters.

Eight steps, in the order they happen, with the windows and the quantities we work to. OH! is new in Ottawa, so this sequence stands where a wall of reviews would: every figure below is published here first and written into your quote in the same words.

  1. You write

    Four details start a quote

The date, the guest count, the neighbourhood and one sentence about the room are enough to price a table. Those four answers set the format, the quantities and the length of surface the food will need.

We answer every enquiry within one business day, and the reply names the next step and what it takes to hold the date.

The format is built for roughly 12 to 50 guests, in houses, condo party rooms, back gardens, community halls and offices.

  2. We answer

    One written quote, itemised

Styled tables start at $42 per guest, plus applicable taxes, and the working range runs $42–$65 per guest, with the top of it being tables that replace a meal. Your quote is built from four things: guest count, table format, how long the event runs and the setup the room needs, and it separates food, styling and delivery so each part of the number is visible.

The event minimum is $600 before delivery and taxes. Delivery and on-site styling are $45 within 25 km. Past that, the charge is quoted for your address before you book.

Food, styling, delivery and travel sit on separate lines, so the part of the number you want to move is visible before you move it.

  3. You decide

The deposit is what holds the date

A 30% deposit and a signed quote hold your date, and the balance is due 3 days before the event. Move or cancel more than 14 days out and the deposit is refunded; inside that window it covers the sourcing already committed.

A conversation about a date leaves it open to anyone else who asks for it. The signed quote and the deposit together are what take it off the calendar.

  4. We plan

The menu is sized to the room

A 1.8 m trestle — the standard six-foot folding table — carries a grazing display for roughly twenty to twenty-five guests at appetiser level, a 2.4 m surface takes thirty to forty, and fifty guests want two 1.8 m tables joined or run as a pair.

Allow about 30 cm of open table edge for every guest standing at it in the same moment, which is why a table pushed against a wall queues twice as long as one you can walk around.

Share dietary preferences and allergy information when you enquire. We plan suitable choices and label the table clearly. For severe or life-threatening allergies we talk through cross-contact before you book, and we cannot guarantee allergen-free preparation on a shared table.

  5. You confirm

The count closes a week out

Final guest count is due 7 days before the event. After that the shopping list is set: numbers can still rise, and the count stops coming down.

Late acceptances are the normal shape of a party, so the number can still rise after that date. The shopping happens against the figure you give us here.

  6. We cook

Prepared in a rented commercial kitchen

OH! is a service-area business in Ottawa. Food is prepared in a rented commercial kitchen in Ottawa, then delivered and composed on the table in your space. There is no storefront and no public address.

Boards, bowls, stands, linens and serving pieces travel with the food, so your own kitchen stays yours for the last hour before guests arrive.

  7. We build

The table goes up before the doorbell

We arrive ahead of your guests and build the display on your surface. A table takes 45 to 90 minutes to compose, depending on its length and how many items it carries.

Height, colour and the order things sit in are decided in the room, against the light and the way people will reach across it. Labels go on as the last pass, so the table can be read before it is touched.

    On-site build
    45 to 90 minutes
  8. Your guests eat

How long the table can stand

A table holding dairy and cured meat comes down after about two hours at room temperature, and after about one hour once the space is warmer than about 32 °C.

That window is the reason a build time is agreed with you rather than assumed. We set the table to land close to the hour your guests do, and the serving pieces go back with us when the food has done its work.

Where we are today

The parts we can show you,
and the parts we cannot.

OH! is new, so there are no reviews here and no client names.
The windows, the prices and the terms above are published before you enquire, and they are the same ones written into your quote.
The photography on this site was generated to show the style we build toward.
Every picture is described for what it contains. The first tables we style for Ottawa hosts are the ones that will replace them.
A venue asking a supplier for paperwork gets a straight answer for its own date and room.
Raise it in the first message and the answer comes back in writing, early enough to change the plan.

OH! works out of a commercial kitchen in Ottawa that we rent by the hour, so the premises permit for it belongs to the facility rather than to OH!. There is no liability policy in OH!'s own name today, so a venue-specific certificate of insurance is something we cannot supply. Venues in Ottawa routinely ask suppliers for one, so raise it with us early and you get a straight answer for your date and venue in writing.

The full question list sits on the FAQ, and the terms in this sequence are written out on the pricing page.
