How the event minimum works for a small group

Every booking carries a $600 event minimum before delivery and taxes, and it covers the same things at ten guests as at forty: the food, the composition on your surface, the serving pieces, boards and linens, and the pack-down. At the starting price of $42 per guest, the minimum sets the food line below 15 guests, so the price per guest rises as the group shrinks; from 15 guests the per-guest rate is the figure. The quote shows which of the two applies before you decide.

What ten to twenty guests eat

As the meal, plan ten to fourteen pieces per guest over two hours, which is 150–210 pieces for fifteen; beside a dinner eaten elsewhere, six to nine pieces per guest. At this size the table carries fewer categories, each one generous, so it reads as full from the first guest to the last.

One table, sized to your dining room

A 1.8 m trestle — the standard six-foot folding table — carries a grazing display for roughly twenty to twenty-five guests at appetiser level, a 2.4 m surface takes thirty to forty, and fifty guests want two 1.8 m tables joined or run as a pair. A party of twenty or fewer fits one standard six-foot table, so the dining table, kitchen island or sideboard you already have may be enough; send its length and depth and the composition is planned to it.

Small parties happen in small rooms: a condo in Westboro with a booked service elevator, a townhouse in Kanata with one parking spot out front, an apartment downtown where the island is the only surface. Each changes the carry and the build, so name the building with the enquiry. Delivery and on-site styling are $45 within 25 km, and further out the charge is quoted for the address.

A small party is often planned at shorter notice, and a weekday is always worth asking about. Enquiries are usually answered within an hour, and always within one business day; a 30% deposit and a signed quote hold the date, and the final count is due 7 days before. After that it can still rise, and it stops coming down.
