Christmas dinner · Ottawa

OH! caters Christmas dinner in Ottawa as one generous holiday table composed in your home before the family sits down: aged cheeses, cured meat, roasted vegetables, breads, fruit and seasonal sweets, with hot Ukrainian dishes on request, for roughly 12 to 50 guests. It suits Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the dinners between Christmas and New Year, when the host would rather be at the table than at the stove.

and the host at the table too.

What arrives for Christmas dinner

A long share table set on your dining table or kitchen island in 45 to 90 minutes, planned as the meal itself: ten to fourteen pieces per guest over two hours and 300 to 400 g of food per guest, with substantial savoury dishes carrying the evening and a sweet run for the coffee.

  • Richer and aged cheeses, cured meat and breads
  • Roasted vegetables with depth, and dips
  • Citrus, preserved and dried fruit, and spiced nuts
  • Hot varenyky and grilled Ukrainian sausage, quoted per event
  • Medovik, kartoshka cakes and nalysnyky for dessert

The turkey question

A roast turkey with the trimmings is a dish to name in your message, and the reply says plainly whether we can cook it for your date. Where the turkey stays your own, the table carries everything around it: the cheese and the starters while the bird rests, and the sweets after.

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Christmas Eve suits a table that is ready when the family comes in from the service or the snow; Christmas Day suits an afternoon table that holds while the presents are opened; Boxing Day and the days before New Year suit a slow table for the relatives who stayed. December dates fill earliest of the year, so ask about yours early.

Hot dishes, timed to the meal

Hot dishes arrive for the hour the family sits down: varenyky filled with potato or with potato and cheese, finished with fried onions and sour cream, and grilled Ukrainian sausage, quoted per event on their own line. They stand on the table for about two hours at room temperature, and what is left goes into your fridge, boxed. Our hot buffet page sets out how a hot order is planned.

Leftovers and the next day

Everything left on the table is boxed for you before we leave, which in the week between Christmas and New Year is half the point of the order. The serving pieces leave with us the same evening or the next morning by arrangement.

Dietary needs at the family table

Holiday menus concentrate dairy, nuts and wheat, so the cards on a Christmas table name the aged cheeses, the spiced nuts and everything baked with wheat. Send the dietary needs with the final count, and a serious allergy is a conversation before the date, while the menu can still bend.

What it costs

From $42 per guest for the food and the styled build, with the working range at $42–$65 per guest; a table that is the Christmas dinner sits at the top of it. The $600 event minimum applies before delivery and taxes, smaller families are taken at that minimum, and delivery and on-site styling are $45 within 25 km. Hot dishes are quoted per event on their own line.

Booking a Christmas date

A 30% deposit and a signed quote hold the date, the balance is due 3 days before, and the final count is due 7 days before. A date moved more than 14 days out gets its deposit back. Send the date, the count and the hour you eat in the first message; enquiries are usually answered within an hour, and always within one business day.

Questions, answered

Before you
say OH!

How much does Christmas dinner catering for 20 cost in Ottawa?

$1,300 plus delivery for twenty as the full Christmas dinner, at the top of the $42–$65 per guest range; a lighter table beside your own cooking starts at $840, or $885 with $45 delivery and on-site styling within 25 km, plus applicable taxes. Hot dishes are quoted on their own line.

Can you add hot dishes to a Christmas dinner table?

Yes: hot dishes are quoted per event beside the table, under the same $600 event minimum. The ones OH! has cooked and sold so far are varenyky filled with potato or with potato and cheese, finished with fried onions and sour cream, and grilled Ukrainian sausage, and any other dish you name, a roast turkey included, gets a straight answer about your date.

How much food per person for a Christmas dinner table?

300 to 400 g of food and ten to fourteen pieces per guest over two hours, so 6–8 kg and 200–280 pieces for twenty. The quote counts it for your family and the hour you eat.

How do you handle allergies and dietary requirements?

Share dietary preferences and allergy information when you enquire. We plan suitable choices and label the table clearly. For severe or life-threatening allergies we talk through cross-contact before you book, and we cannot guarantee allergen-free preparation on a shared table.
